Photography is a passion for India-born visual artist Subhrajit Mukherjee, 37, and two elements that excite him most are light and empty space, which he visualises in terms of darkness.

And his solo exhibition of photographic prints reveals Mukherjee’s fascination with light and its relationship with darkness. Most of the photographs in his current series were shot in Calcutta, Mukherjee’s hometown. Others were taken in Indonesia and Cambodia.

He makes use of whatever available light for his photographic shots, when he comes upon an interesting scene, he not only sees light but also "hear" and "smell" it. It is the conversation between darkness and light that takes precedence over camera techniques.

The price of each 68cm by 93cm work is RM798.
