EDUCATION

1973-1977 | Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Shah Alam

  • Began his career as a graphic artist and created some of the most influential advertising graphics in Malaysia

  • Motivated by the presence of the human form and its place in the environment, Zakii seeks to uncover the relationship and interconnection between the two, revealing deeper, metaphysical aspects of urban life

  • Influenced by the development of figurative realism within painting in contemporary Malaysian art practice

  • Explored a huge range of ideas and style through his works, which includes works from the early still-life series to his monumental charcoals on paper.

  • Works with charcoal and oil to create his hypergraphic portraits
