Configuration: Parallel Universe is the fifth edition to the ongoing Configuration exhibition series.

The latest show features 23 works by 11 artists from Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia and the Philippines.

The artists from Malaysia are Umibaizurah Mahir, Gan Chin Lee, Cheong Tuck Wai, Fadilah Karim, Hisyamuddin Abdullah, Gan Sze Hooi while from Thailand are Lampu Kansanoh, Palut Marod and Jamon Nimnark as well as Valerie Chua from the Philippines and Valdo Manullang from Indonesia.

"Configuration" means "an arrangement of parts or elements in a particular form, figure, or combination" and the exhibition aims to feature a range of practices tackling figurative art.

Unlike previous Configuration shows, the theme and direction of this exhibition revolves around the idea of a "parallel universe" which emphasizes a surrealistic approach or a dystopian perspective and dreamscapes which are  simply, "out of the world".

The show will open on Aug 5 at 8pm.
